Isaac's research interests span organic synthesis and organometallic chemistry, with a focus on unusual bonding, fundamental reactivity, and sustainable chemistry. Building on previous work involving rigid main-group ligand frameworks and novel transition-metal pincer catalysts, his current research in YKLab focuses on the design and study of octet-defying carbon species. He is particularly interested in exploring the potential of these unconventional carbon centers as transition metal surrogates for developing new and sustainable strategies for bond activation.
